Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto (新函館北斗駅) is a station on Hakodate Main line and the terminal for the new Hokkaido Shinkansen.

The new Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station features large windows and white support pillars modeled after poplar trees near the local Trappist monastery. Ticket vending machines are located on the second floor of the structure. A large number of locally sourced cedar lumber and Hokkaido bricks are used in decorating the interior of the station.

Shinkansen Platform
Shinkansen platform is located on the first level. Passengers arriving from Tokyo take an escalator to the second floor to transfer to local JR lines for Sapporo and Hakodate. Passengers arriving on local trains can transfer to Hokkaido shinkansen for Tokyo using transfer gates on ground level.

A Kiosk shop is located on the second floor of the station building. At this shop you can find bento boxes to take on a train, other food and drinks, as well as local souvenirs. The Kiosk shop is open from 7:00 to 20:00

Tourist Information Center
The staff at the Tourist Information Center can give you information on sightseeing spots, events, activities, accommodation and transport in Hokuto City, Hakodate and other location in Hokkaido. The center is situated on the second floor of the station outside of the ticket gates. The Tourist Information Center is open from 9:00 to 19:00.

Hakodate Liner
Hakodate Liner in a new service connecting Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station to Hakodate. This train runs approximately every 30 minutes and takes 19 minutes in transit between the two stations. The ride costs ¥360 and is covered by Japan Rail Pass.
